Golf

Northwood School offers a competitive golf team for boys and girls during the spring athletic season. The Lake Placid Club is Northwood School's home golf course for practice and competitive matches.

The Lake Placid Club is a public course that offers 45 holes of golf between the Links and Mountain Courses (2-18 holes courses) and the Pristine 9 (9 holes). Northwood golfers will use all three courses of the Lake Placid Club for practice, but will host its matches on the Mountain Course.  The Northwood Golf team follows the rules of the New York State Association of Independent Schools which allows our team to play public schools in New York.

Players are selected by the coaches at the end of the season, based on their performance, to participate in the NYSAIS Golf Championship.  From there, a Northwood golfer has the opportunity to move on to the New York State Federation Golf Championship held annually at the prestigious Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, NY, if they finish in the top 6 of the NYSAIS Championships.
