Advancement Offie Announcement

Greetings, and I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather of the past two weeks.  I write to announce the appointment of Northwood School's advancement team.

I have tapped Tom Broderick to be the Associate Head of School for External Affairs and Director of the Annual Fund. Tom's 34th year of service to Northwood School makes him the ideal candidate to work closely with faculty, parents, and alumni to help raise funds for the school's yearly operating budget.  He will be responsible for directing the campaign, engaging faculty to help expand alumni engagement, managing Ring the Bell for Northwood, and working closely with class agents and the alumni council.

Former Parent Peter J. Ticconi II (Peter J. Ticconi III '99) has been appointed Northwood's Advancement Coach. Peter has over 40 years of experience as a gift planning consultant, speaker, researcher, and author.  He has worked at Georgia Institute of Technology, Connecticut College, Bason College, Saint Lawrence University, Williams College, The Johns Hopkins Institutions, and Northfield Mount Herman School.  He will provide invaluable guidance and help the school update the Advancement Offices operations.

Recently retired Master Teacher Steve Reed has agreed to become the school's Director of Alumni Relations.  Steve is entering his 51st year of service at Northwood School.  His superb writing and close relationship to alumnae from his half-century of teaching, college guidance, coaching, and administrative work will help the school connect with the broad alumni base that populates the Northwood universe.

Former Parent (Austin Scholl '06) and Northwood School Trustee Diane Scholl has graciously agreed to be the Director of Events.  Her twenty-plus years of work in real estate as an agent, property management, and property & design consulting, along with her work as the Assistant to the Director of Banca Popolare di Milano have given her vast experience in coordinating, planning, and executing a variety of events across the United States. Diane's attention to detail, negotiating skills, and love for the school will be invaluable as Northwood works to connect with the school's parents, alumni, and friends.

Finally, I have appointed Stephanie Gates as Executive Assistant to the Head of School and Board of Trustees and Chief Administrator for Advancement. Stephanie's grasp of logistics, planning, data entry, business management, merchandising, operations, and more will prove invaluable in helping the advancement office. She will manage alumni correspondence, plan strategic initiatives, and coordinate the team to effectively execute the advancement office's mission to engage Northwood School alumni, parents, and friends of the school.

Best,

Mike
