During the Legacy Family recognition, Ross Bartell ’80 (who competed in hockey with Head of School, Mike Maher) read a letter he composed as if his parents had written the piece. In the letter, the Bartell parents expressed their appreciation for all that Northwood had done for many in the family and who have prospered as a result of their experiences at school.

The Distinguished Alumnus award is bestowed each year on a graduate who typifies the Northwood School tradition of excellence and who has brought credit to the school through personal accomplishments, professional achievements, or humanitarian service. This year’s award recognized Bob Valentine ’57, at left with Head of School, Mike Maher.

Members of the Class of 2023 recently presented over a dozen advanced research projects to the school’s student body, and members of the Tri-Lakes community during Northwood’s annual Student Symposium at the school’s Innovation Hub on Main Street in Lake Placid.
