Guide to the Application Process
To apply to Northwood School, applicants should complete one of the following online applications, Gateway to Prep Schools OR SSAT's SAO (Standard Application Online). Please use the collapsible menu below to complete the steps in the application process. To schedule an on campus interview and tour of Northwood School with a member of our admission team please email Elenor Mandigo at email@example.com or by phone at (518)302-5113. International student interviews will be conducted using "WhatsApp." Please download "WhatsApp" in advance of your interview.
Applicants should plan for a conversation of approximately 25 minutes with a member of our admission office. If parents or guardians would also like to speak with the admission officer, please let us know when scheduling your appointment so that we can allow time for that conversation to occur after the candidate has completed their interview.
Northwood School Standardized Testing Requirements
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic SSAT is now offering at home testing. For more information about the SSAT and for information about registering for a test, please visit SSAT At Home.
- 11th, 12th or PG candidates: PSAT, SAT, PLAN or ACT.
- Non-native English speakers may be required to submit additional English language testing such as TOEFL (international school code: 7531) OR Duolingo Online English Test
- Candidates for the Learning Center can submit psychoeducational in lieu of standardized testing.
Ensure that you have completed all required components of the application and submit your materials by January 31st.
If you are applying for Financial Aid, please visit Solutions by SSS to complete required financial aid forms and directly submit all necessary tax documents by the January 31st deadline. All applicants will be notified of their admission decisions via email on March 10.
Accepted students are invited to campus for our revisit program. Accepted student days are scheduled for two weeks in March or April. Details about these dates will be included in accepted student packets.
Accepted students wishing to enroll are required to formally accept their offer of admission and return the signed contract and deposit to Northwood School by April 10.
