January 5, 2017 Welcome Back

Dear Northwood Families,

It is good to be back and to see our students picking up the new semester with enthusiasm. I hope you enjoy the weekend. Our ski, hockey, and robotics teams will all be participating in competitions this weekend. We look forward to following their progress.

For students who remain on campus, we are offering a "movie bus" to town, s'mores at the Pavilion, cross country skiing at the Cascade Ski Center, downhill trips on Saturday and Sunday to Whiteface, a Clarkson-RPI hockey game here in town, skating on the 1932 speed skating track, and ice climbing with Mr. Mellor. It is a great weekend to try something new!

The Mirror has released a new set of student-written articles. You can get the news from their point of view here. Thank you to the journalism class for their work on our school newspaper.

On Monday, we welcome Jonathan Olivares of Harvard’s Graduate School of Design to campus. Mr. Olivares will share feedback with students on their prototypes in the innovation classes, meet with teachers about our curriculum, tour the new building on Main Street and share ideas about its interior design, and speak at All School Meeting. You can find a short bio. for Mr. Olivares here.

And lastly, juniors will gather for a college guidance meeting with Mr. Spear on Monday evening after dinner.

As always, thank you for trusting your children to our care. We are so grateful for the opportunity to work with them.

Warmly,

Linda
