#MOREGOALS

Northwood School has teamed up with Black Rock FC, a club soccer program designed to help top student-athletes from around the globe maximize their educational opportunities through the game of soccer. This exciting new program is called the Black Rock FC Residential Academy @ Northwood School. The inaugural class of student-athletes is comprised of 36 top players from 18 different countries, each of whom distinguished themselves in the admissions process with excellence not only in soccer but also in academics, leadership, and overall character. The program is led by director and head coach Jon Moodey, who previously coached at Berkshire School where he won three National Prep Championships.

The boys in this program will represent Northwood School throughout the fall prep soccer season and will continue to compete in the winter and spring in club soccer events representing Black Rock FC. This split season program, a new model in prep school soccer, will allow players to pursue their passion for soccer throughout the year. In the first few weeks of play, Northwood has gone unbeaten and captured the eye of the national prep soccer scene, climbing to #3 in the National Prep Soccer Rankings and most recently beat Phillips Andover, 4-0. The college scouts have taken notice as well, and two seniors have already secured college scholarships and commitments at University of Michigan and James Madison University.

Those planning to attend Family Weekend, October 11-13, will have a chance to see this new Northwood program in action as they host Woodbridge SC, the reigning U18 National Champions from Canada. Also, for any families traveling with children, the team will host a free clinic for boys and girls between the ages of 9-14 in the new indoor turf facility (located in the former all-purpose gymnasium).
