New Turf Field to Debut Nov. 12-14 for Invitational

Northwood School to Host First Soccer Showcase On New Turf Field

Northwood Invitational Nov. 12-14 with 10 Teams and College Coaches

The Northwood Soccer Team will break in the new artificial turf field on Friday, November 12, with the 2021 Northwood Invitational recruitment event.

Matches will run from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, starting first on Friday with a pair of games and then again on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM both days. Inclement weather may move some games to the indoor turf field.

Participating teams include:

  • Black Rock FC Residential Academy | Northwood School (2 teams) - Lake Placid
  • Black Rock FC Residential Academy | High Mowing School (2 teams) - Wilton, NH
  • Black Rock FC | IHC Soccer Academy (1 team) - Watertown, New York
  • Burlington FC (1 team) - Burlington, Vermont
  • NY Elite Alleycats (1 team) - Albany, New York
  • RMPUS (1 team) - Montreal, Quebec, Canada
  • St. Andrew's College (1 team) - Aurora, Ontario, Canada
  • North Country Selects (1 team) - Adirondack Region, New York

The games are a soft launch of the new field with a formal event next spring when all components are complete, including the landscaping, bleachers, and concrete sidewalk. This is the first outdoor turf field in Lake Placid and investment in the Athletics programs at Northwood School and community. Media, parents, and fans are encouraged to bring chairs because we do not have bleachers at this time.

Roster template attached. All games will be live-streamed.
