Pathways Alumni Event - Coming Soon!

Pathways -- September 21 at 8:00 pm

Northwood is pleased to announce its first Pathways presentation of the new school year. This coming Wednesday evening (September 21), four graduates with varied and successful experience as entrepreneurs will be our guests on a panel hosted by Luke Daniels ‘14

Gale Mullen graduated from Northwood in 1981 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. She holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto. She is the co-founder of Nao Now Tutoring - an online English tutoring platform that connects American college students (tutors) with Korean children. Northwood School has adopted its use in the past few years. The company is currently in the process of “scaling’ to reach a broader market. The potential for the project was evident when ten minutes after launch, 100 students had signed up.

Mark Valente is a 2006 graduate of Northwood who attended Duquesne University for two years before starting a software focused business in 2009 with a childhood friend turned business partner; that entity went through a recent merger to increase value to their IP assets. In 1917, he became the founder and owner of a Bitcoin mining company that provides hardware sales and hosting for Bitcoin miners.

Lou DiMasi ’00 Is a 2004 graduate of Norwich University who has a MSA (administration and management) from Saint Michael’s College. He is the owner of three businesses in Vermont: Red Clover Events (large festivals, sporting events, food trucks, etc.); Blue Clover Painting, and Poor Farm Trees. Prior to branching off on his own, he worked for a sports management company.

Emily Simmons ’08 is one of three siblings to graduate from Northwood. After graduating from Brown University, she worked for Bain and Company and got her MBA from Harvard Business School in 2017. She recently became “Employee #1” and the Chief Marketing Officer for July, a seed stage start-up. Additionally, she runs her own company, Camp Toasted, a s’mores food truck pop-up based in San Francisco. She also serves as a member of Northwood’s Advisory Board.

We’ll provide the Teams link for the session soon. We look forward to seeing you!
