In preparation for the 2019-2020 school year, Northwood School welcomes seven new faculty and staff. 

“Our new faculty join a dedicated team of teachers and staff, we are pleased to welcome them to the Lake Placid community and our campus this week,” said Michael Maher, Head of School. “The addition of these accomplished faculty, from All-Americans to seasoned professionals, demonstrates our commitment to the mission of our school, the student experience and an applied curriculum helping to address issues right here in our community.”

A significant amount has been completed out back on the Lake Level side of the building.  We removed the old, three-story porch and prepped the area to begin a foundation for a new, weatherized, three-story structure. This involved removing the old concrete blocks, digging… continue reading

The Junior Hockey Team had its historic season end with a 3rd place finish at the USA National Championships in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

The Black Rock FC Residential Academy at Northwood School recently returned from the Dallas Cup, one of the most famous youth soccer tournaments in the U.S. and attracts top teams from around the globe. Entering the biggest stage of the year, the two teams from Northwood School did not falter and instead put together their strongest team performances of the year.
